## Synopsis

Eternal Love (2017) is a Chinese fantasy romance series created by Ren Haitao, Lam Yuk Fan and Chui Wah Yu, broadcast on Zhejiang Television and Dragon Television. Adapted from a novel, the single-season run of 58 forty-five-minute episodes follows Bai Qian (Yang Mi), a woman who leaves a heartbreaking betrayal behind and no longer feels anything, and Ye Hua (Mark Chao You-ting), the devoted lover who witnessed her death and now meets her again in the East Sea Dragon Palace. Their reunion is the engine of the story: Bai Qian cannot comprehend Ye Hua's actions, and each new lifetime in a different world forces the pair to test whether their bond can survive memory loss, misunderstanding and hidden identities. Episodes unfold through flashbacks to earlier lives, weaving romance with palace intrigue and courtly politics in an ancient-styled realm. The mood is wistful and aching, with a sweeping romantic melancholy that stays tender rather than grim. Viewers who enjoy xianxia romance and fated love stories in the vein of Legend of Fuyao and The Untamed will find resonance here, as the series pairs lavish costume spectacle with a patient, emotionally driven look at love that refuses to end.
