## Synopsis

Saga of Tanya the Evil (2017-present) is a Japanese animated isekai war drama produced by NUT and aired on AT-X, adapted from a light novel series. Tanya Degurechaff, voiced by Aoi Yuuki, is a former elite Japanese salaryman reborn as a blond, blue-eyed little girl in an alternate Europe, where she commands a squad of magic-wielding soldiers. Viktoriya Ivanovna Serebryakova, voiced by Saori Hayami, and Erich von Rerugen, voiced by Shin-ichiro Miki, are among the principal officers around her, while Existence X, voiced by Hideaki Tezuka, hangs over the story as the mysterious being who sent her there. The engine of the show is Tanya's drive to climb the military and political ladder while navigating battlefield losses and court intrigue. Each episode mixes sharp tactical set pieces with bureaucratic maneuvering. The series runs two seasons of twelve episodes each, a continuing story with its dark humor and cold detachment. Its tone is clinical, cynical and tense, and its violence is brutal. Fans of The Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Re:Zero and Overlord will find resonance here.
