## Synopsis

Unhappily Ever After (1995-1999) is an American family sitcom created by Ron Leavitt and Arthur Silver for The WB. Jack Malloy (Geoff Pierson) is a used car lot worker whose schizophrenic hallucinations make his stuffed rabbit Mr. Floppy come to life, voiced by Bobcat Goldthwait and performed by Allan Trautman. His wife Jennie (Stephanie Hodge) openly resents her sons Ryan (Kevin Connolly) and Ross (Justin Berfield), while their daughter Tiffany (Nikki Cox) is the favored, bright one. Each half-hour episode is a case-of-the-week domestic scramble in which the family's bickering and the father's delusions collide in the living room. The show runs five seasons and about a hundred episodes. Its tone is sardonic and irreverent, with a breezy, sometimes bittersweet undertone beneath the jokes about an unhappy household. Characters regularly break the fourth wall to address the audience directly. Fans of Roseanne, Married... with Children and Malcolm in the Middle will find resonance in its blue-collar family comedy and its gleeful chaos.
