## Synopsis

Wounded Love (Vatanım Sensin) (2016-2018) is a Turkish national-television historical drama series created by Nuran Evren Şit for Kanal D. Azize (Bergüzar Korel) is left with three children and a domineering mother-in-law while her husband Cevdet (Halit Ergenç) is away during the turbulent war of independence period. Her struggle is to keep her household alive and her marriage intact amid scarcity, danger and divided loyalties, while Cevdet's own fight pulls him far from home. Supporting characters including Onur Saylak as Tevfik and Yanik Efe, Şebnem Hassanisoughi as Eftalya and Okan Yalabık as Charles Hamilton add rival loyalties and wartime intrigue. The series runs across two seasons and fifty-nine episodes, a serialized melodrama where each episode builds on family crises, betrayals and small acts of sacrifice. Set in 1910s and 1920s Anatolia, it moves through a country under occupation and upheaval. Its register is earnest, emotional and sweeping, with a tone of longing and endurance, and it will appeal to viewers of Turkish period melodrama and fans of Dirilis: Ertugrul and The Promise who want romance tested by history.
