## Synopsis

Heart of the City (Bu Şehir Arkandan Gelecek, 2017-2018) is a Turkish romantic drama series broadcast on atv, produced by Ay Yapım, and built as a single sixty-episode serial of roughly 150-minute installments. Derin, the daughter of a wealthy family, is played by Leyla Lydia Tuğutlu, and her world collides with Ali, a 24-year-old raised by the kindly Rauf Anne (Osman Alkaş) after witnessing a terrible loss in childhood. When Ali returns to Istanbul after many years, he and Derin begin to spend time together, and the central engine is the pull between two people from opposite social worlds, with family disapproval and old wounds standing in the way. Supporting figures include Gürkan Uygun as Şahin, Nilperi Şahinkaya as Asli, Kaan Yalçın as Ersan, and Seda Akman as Belgin Mirkelamoğlu, whose relationships widen the story beyond the central couple. The series unfolds as a long, emotionally heightened romance in the tradition of Turkish television melodrama, with lingering looks, quiet confrontations and a steady accumulation of secrets. Its tone is sincere and yearning, with a contemporary Istanbul setting of affluent households and modest neighborhoods. Viewers who enjoy Kara Sevda and Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne? will find similar emotional pull in its class-crossing love story and family-centered drama.
