## Synopsis

Workin' Moms (2017-2023) is a Canadian comedy series created by Catherine Reitman for CBC Television, a half-hour sitcom with a single-camera, candid tone. Catherine Reitman plays Kate Foster, a television writer trying to balance her career with new motherhood, alongside Dani Kind as Anne, Juno Rinaldi as Frankie Coyne, and Jessalyn Wanlim as Jenny Matthews, a group of friends who meet regularly in a Toronto mothers' group and at work. The engine of the show is the constant pull between ambition and caregiving: a job opportunity arrives at the wrong moment, a child needs attention, a marriage strains, and each woman must decide what she can give up. Each season plays out as a continuing run of episodes that follow these lives in sequence, with recurring storylines about identity, money, and friendship. The tone is frank, sharp, and affectionate, mixing bawdy humour with moments of real vulnerability around postpartum depression and unplanned pregnancy. Set in contemporary urban Canada, it feels like a grounded, lived-in portrait of modern parenthood. Fans of Catastrophe, Fleabag and Motherland will find resonance in its candid, female-led comedy.
