## Synopsis

The Gifted (2017-2019) is an American network superhero drama created by Matt Nix for FOX, drawn from the Marvel mutant universe. Stephen Moyer plays Reed Strucker and Amy Acker plays Caitlin Strucker, a suburban couple whose ordinary lives collapse when their children reveal mutant powers. Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hynes White play their teenage kids, Lauren and Andy, whose abilities make the household a target. Forced to flee a hostile government, the family must lean on an underground network of mutants, including Blair Redford as John Proudstar and Emma Dumont as Lorna Dane, to stay alive. The engine of the show is constant pursuit: every episode puts the family in a new hiding place, a new confrontation, or a new cost of loyalty. Across two seasons and 29 episodes, the story moves in serialized chapters where escapes, alliances and betrayals build on one another. Its tone mixes propulsive action with domestic anxiety and a sense of persecution, giving the spectacle an emotional core in parents trying to protect their children. Fans of The X-Men, Heroes and Dark Angel will find resonance in its blend of superpowered action, family drama and a hunted minority fighting for survival. The series was canceled after its second season, and its story remains unfinished.
