## Synopsis

On Tiptoes (Pavarchin, 2002-2002) is an Iranian national-television comedy serial created by Mehran Modiri for IRIB TV5, the Tehran channel also known as Channel 5. Directed by Modiri, who also appears in the cast as Farhad Barareh, the show follows a large extended family whose members collide in everyday domestic situations. Sahar Zakaria plays Mahtab Mahtabi, Javad Razavian plays Davood Barareh, and Shaghayegh Dehghan plays Yasaman, with Siamak Ansari as Sepehr Mahtabi and Sahar Valadbeygi as Shadi Barareh rounding out the principal household. Its engine is the steady stream of small misunderstandings, rivalries and reconciliations that arise when relatives share the same routines and expectations. The series ran as a single season of 51 episodes, broadcast nightly at 8 p.m. and later syndicated to provincial channels and to viewers abroad. Its tone is gentle, warm and playful, built on ensemble chemistry and familiar domestic friction rather than sharp satire. Viewers who enjoy family sitcoms in the vein of Everybody Loves Raymond or Malcolm in the Middle will find a similar comfort in its recurring households and affectionate humour.
