## Synopsis

Innocent (2017) is a Turkish crime mystery miniseries created by Berkun Oya and broadcast on BluTV. Across eight hour-long episodes, retired officer Cevdet Bayrakçı (Haluk Bilginer) and his family are drawn into a murder case in a peaceful rustic town, where the calm surface gives way to shocking, long-buried secrets. Nur Sürer plays Nermin Bayrakçı, whose household is shaken as the investigation pulls at private loyalties, while Okan Yalabık plays Tarık Bayrakçı, and Ali Atay plays Yusuf, a figure whose ties to the case deepen the unease. The engine of the show is the slow peeling back of lies within one close-knit community, with each episode revealing a new layer of guilt and complicity around the killing. It is a limited series told as one continuing story, where order matters and every revelation reshapes earlier scenes. The tone is brooding, intimate and tense, with a mournful undertone of moral compromise. Its atmosphere of provincial stillness and quiet domestic dread recalls the slow burn of Broadchurch and the family-centered unease of The Killing, and fans of Nordic noir will find a kindred sensibility in its patient, character-driven investigation.
