## Synopsis

Feud (2017-2024) is an American anthology drama series created by Ryan Murphy, Jaffe Cohen and Michael Zam for FX, a prestige biographical production that dramatizes famous real-life rivalries. Its first season follows the bitter, decades-long feud between screen icons Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) and Joan Crawford, whose hostility peaks during the troubled shoot of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? and spills into a fierce campaign for an Oscar. Around them, Truman Capote (Tom Hollander) and Babe Paley (Naomi Watts) circulate through a web of socialites, studio executives and rivals, so the drama moves between soundstage jealousy and gossipy high society. The engine of each season is ambition colliding with vanity: stars who need the industry's approval and cannot stand one another. The show runs two seasons of eight episodes each, and each season is its own self-contained story rather than one continuing arc. Set in mid-twentieth-century Hollywood and New York, it carries a glossy, caustic, theatrical tone, equal parts bitter wit and melancholy about fading fame. Fans of The Crown, American Crime Story and Hollywood will find resonance in its blend of period glamour and dramatized true events.
