## Synopsis

Terrace House: Aloha State (2016-2017) is a Japanese reality series created for Netflix and Fuji TV, the follow-up to Terrace House: Boys and Girls in the City. Six strangers share a single roof on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, going about their daily lives while cameras watch from the sidelines. The engine of the show is ordinary living: housemates pursue jobs, friendships, and romance, and the shared house breeds friction and conflict as personalities collide. Residents can move out whenever they choose, and newcomers arrive to take their place, so the household keeps shifting. Each episode is built from unscripted footage, with studio commentators such as Yoshimi Tokui and Ryota Yamasato offering light reactions between scenes. The series is a single season of 36 episodes, a relaxed, observational reality experience with a sunny, breezy tone. Its tone is intimate and gently voyeuristic rather than scripted or sensational. Fans of Terrace House: Boys and Girls in the City, The Real World and Love Island will find the same appeal of watching strangers navigate close quarters and emerging romance. The series is unscripted and never turns into a conventional story arc.
