## Synopsis

Farmacia de guardia (1991-1995) is a Spanish comedy series created by Antonio Mercero for Antena 3, a light domestic sitcom running five seasons and 169 episodes of half-hour episodes. Concha Cuetos plays Lourdes Cano, a pharmacist whose days at the counter are constantly interrupted by her colorful neighbors, her eccentric assistants and her restless children. Carlos Larrañaga plays Adolfo Segura, her flirty ex-husband, whose presence keeps the household in a steady state of friendly friction. Julián González and Miguel Ángel Garzón play her sons, while Pepe Soriano appears as Don Enrique Cano, adding a fond older-generation presence. The engine is simple and episodic: each episode turns a neighbor's minor crisis, a customer's odd request or a family squabble into a warm comic set piece. Scale is modest, with each season a self-contained run of everyday mishaps rather than a continuing plot. The tone is cozy, gently absurd and affectionate toward its chaotic cast, with a familiar neighborhood Madrid texture. Fans of Cheers, Mi familia and Murphy Brown will find a similar pleasure in ensemble banter and a lead holding a busy household together.
