## Synopsis

Before We Die (2017-2019) is a Swedish crime drama series created by Wilhelm Behrman and Niklas Rockström for SVT1. Stockholm police officer Hanna Svensson (Marie Richardson) is pulled between her job and her troubled son Christian (Adam Pålsson), whom she has arrested for drug dealing. When her married police lover disappears, possibly kidnapped by motorcycle gangs, with hints of ties reaching to Bosnia, Hanna must pursue the case while her family fractures around her. Across two seasons and eighteen hour-long episodes, the engine of the show is a steady, serialized investigation in which every answer exposes a new layer of the criminal underworld. Supporting roles include Magnus Krepper as Björn and Čedomir Đorđević as Bojan, adding further pressure to the investigation. The tone is tense, bleak and emotionally raw, with a grounded, documentary-leaning realism and atmospheric Stockholm streets. Its focus on parental guilt, loyalty and moral compromise gives the thriller a human core. Fans of The Bridge and Gomorrah will find resonance in its nordic noir mood and its tangled organized crime plotting.
