## Synopsis

Tunnel (2017) is a South Korean crime thriller series created for OCN, a cable network known for its genre dramas. Detective Park Gwang-Ho (Choi Jin-hyuk) is a police officer from 1986 who is transported through a mysterious tunnel to the present day, where he must work alongside Kim Sun-Jae (Yoon Hyun-min), a modern detective, to solve a series of murders. His goal is to protect his daughter, and the case unfolds as a single continuing investigation across sixteen one-hour episodes. The story moves between the gritty, analog police work of the 1980s and the digital, fast-paced city of today, with the two investigators gradually building trust despite their conflicting methods. Shin Jae-Yi (Lee You-young) adds emotional weight as a key figure in the mystery. The tone is tense and emotionally charged, mixing suspense with the warmth of an unlikely partnership. Viewers who enjoy time travel thrillers, layered mysteries and character driven crime stories will find resonance in the vein of Dark and Signal, both of which balance procedural tension against personal stakes across timelines.
