## Synopsis

Bonus Family (2017-2021) is a Swedish dramedy series created by Felix Herngren, Moa Herngren and Clara Herngren for SVT1. Patrik and Lisa start a new relationship, and each brings a past into the household, with exes and children from earlier marriages pulling in different directions. The engine of the show is the everyday grind of blended family life: custody handovers, school mornings, shared dinners, birthday schedules and the awkward negotiations between households that never quite fit together. Episodes are self-contained domestic comedies that build into a continuing story across four seasons, with the emotional stakes accumulating season by season. The large ensemble of stepchildren, former partners and relatives keeps the household busy and the rivalries lively. The tone is warm, wry and observant, with comedy grounded in real friction and tenderness. Viewers who enjoy Modern Family and Parenthood will find resonance in its mix of humor and honest family strain, all set in contemporary Sweden. The show balances laughter with moments of loss and reconciliation, and its ending leaves the family bruised but still together, which suits its bittersweet register.
