## Synopsis

Choushinsei Flashman (1986-1987) is a Japanese tokusatsu super sentai series created for TV Asahi, produced by Toei Company and Ishimori Production. Five children kidnapped as infants in 1966 by the alien Mess empire are rescued by the Flash race and trained separately across the Flash solar system, gaining superpowers and adapted bodies. Jin, Dai, Bun, Lou and Sara, played by Touta Tarumi, Kihachirō Uemura, Tsutomu Kitagawa, Mayumi Yoshida and Youko Nakamura, return to Earth in 1986 to fight Mess, which is now trying to invade. Doctor Tokimura (Akira Ishihama) stands among the adults shaping their mission. The engine of each episode is a weekly monster-of-the-week clash, transforming heroes and giant mecha battles, while the larger quest pulls them toward their birth parents. Across one fifty-episode season, the show plays as bright, earnest spectacle with a sense of wonder and kinship. Its style is a campy, toy-driven, colorful kids' action that fans of Super Sentai, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Kamen Rider will find familiar.
