## Synopsis

Bride of Istanbul (2017-2019) is a Turkish family melodrama series created by Gülseren Budayıcıoğlu and broadcast on Star TV. Set in the industrial metropolis of Bursa, it follows Faruk Boran (Özcan Deniz), the owner of a bus company and head of a powerful family, who falls for a violinist, Süreyya (Aslı Enver). His dominant mother, Fikret Boran (Salih Bademci) is not pleased with the relationship, and the series builds its engine from that opposition: the couple's attempts to stay together against the pressure of a rigid household, rivalries inside the family business, and the grudges that pile up between relatives. Each episode is built from family dinners, boardroom clashes, and secret meetings that escalate into confrontations and reconciliations. Across three seasons and roughly 87 episodes, the story stays on one continuing track, delivering the heightened, emotional register of a Turkish soap opera with romance, jealousy, and loyalty at its core. The tone is sincere, sentimental, and often melodramatic, with a warm domestic atmosphere. Fans of Kara Sevda, Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne? and Dynasty will find resonance in its blend of forbidden romance and powerful family rivalry.
