## Synopsis

Prophet Joseph (2009) is an Iranian religious historical drama series created by Farajollah Salahshoor and Jamal Shoorje, produced by Sima Film and aired on IRIB TV1. Mostafa Zamani plays Prophet Joseph, a young man taken to Egypt who rises from servitude and imprisonment to become an advisor at the Pharaoh's court. Katayoun Riahi plays Zuleikha, whose unwanted affection for him sets his household life into turmoil, while Mahmoud Pakniat plays Prophet Jacob, the patient father left waiting far away. Rahim Norouzi and Jahanbakhsh Soltani appear among the royal figures of the Egyptian court, and Amir Hossein Modarres plays Inaroos. The series follows the major episodes of Joseph's life across a single season of forty-five-minute installments, moving from his travels and early rise through prison, royal service, and the arrival of his brothers. Its engine is a slow, deliberate test of wrongs and forgiveness, staged with long, measured scenes of palace intrigue and domestic grief. Set in ancient Egypt, it is a warm, reverent, contemplative drama with a tone of hope and patience. Fans of The Message, Moses and The Prophet will find resonance in its faith-centered epic scale and moral seriousness.
