## Synopsis

Brockmire (2017-2020) is an American comedy-drama series created for IFC, a sardonic sports comedy set largely in the world of minor and independent baseball. Hank Azaria stars as Jim Brockmire, a once-famous major league announcer whose live on-air meltdown after discovering his wife's infidelity ends his career in public humiliation. A decade later he resettles in a small town, takes a job calling games for a struggling team, and tries to rebuild both his professional standing and his love life. Around him, Tawny Newsome plays Gabby Taylor, Tyrel Jackson Williams plays Charles, and Amanda Peet plays Jules James, each pulling Brockmire toward candor and reluctant connection. The engine of the show is simple: a bitter, eloquent man keeps sabotaging his own second chance, while each episode builds around ballpark broadcasts, bar confrontations, and awkward personal reckonings. Across four seasons of eight episodes each, it stays a single continuing story rather than a case of the week. Its tone is raunchy yet melancholic, with profane wit and sincere heartache sharing the same frame. Fans of Eastbound & Down and Curb Your Enthusiasm will find resonance in its cynical, self-destructive lead and its uncomfortable humor.
