## Synopsis

Claws (2017-2022) is an American dark comedy crime series created by Eliot Laurence for TNT. Niecy Nash-Betts stars as Desna, a manicurist at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon in small-town Florida, alongside Carrie Preston as Polly, Jenn Lyon as Jennifer, Karrueche Tran as Virginia, and Judy Reyes as Quiet Ann. Five women who work the polish and cuticle chairs keep finding that their clients, gossip and money problems drag them into criminal schemes, and each episode layers new plots, betrayals and cover-ups over the ordinary rhythms of the shop. Dean Norris (Clay "Uncle Daddy" Husser) and Jack Kesy (Roller) bring menace from the outside world, pushing the women toward bloodier choices. The series runs four seasons and forty episodes of roughly fifty-five minutes, following one continuing story rather than standalone cases. Its tone mixes gallows humor with sudden brutality, set against the humid, sun-faded backdrop of Florida. Fans of Orange Is the New Black, Fargo and Ozark will find resonance in its blend of crime, sharp comedy and morally compromised characters.
