## Synopsis

The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show (1983-1985) is an American animated comedy series created by Charles M. Schulz for CBS. Adapted from his beloved Peanuts comic strip, it runs for two seasons and eighteen episodes, each about twenty-three minutes long. Charlie Brown, voiced by Brad Kesten, is the perpetually unlucky boy whose small hopes keep getting dashed, while Bill Melendez voices his beagle Snoopy, whose vivid imagination lets him fly off into daydreams. Lucy van Pelt (Angela Lee Sloan), Linus van Pelt (Jeremy Schoenberg) and Peppermint Patty (Victoria Vargas) fill out the neighborhood gang. Rather than a continuing plot, the show is built from short sketches, each built around a simple gag, a childhood anxiety or a playful fantasy. The tone is gentle, wistful and warmly funny, with a sweet melancholy under the jokes. Its sparse, comic-strip drawing style and simple, friendly stories make it a comforting choice for young viewers. Fans of The Berenstain Bears and Bluey will find a similar kindness and charm, and the show suits anyone who grew up with the Peanuts strip.
