## Synopsis

Disjointed (2017-2018) is a single-camera American sitcom created by David Javerbaum and Chuck Lorre for Netflix. Kathy Bates plays Ruth Whitefeather Feldman, a pot activist who runs a medical marijuana dispensary and urges her loyal patients to relax and enjoy the high life. Around her, Aaron Moten plays Travis, a dispensary employee, Tone Bell plays Carter, and Chris Redd plays Dank, a cast of colorful staff whose schemes, customer requests, and personal entanglements drive each episode. Ruth's ambition to keep her business thriving against bureaucratic and social obstacles gives the show its engine, while the everyday comedy comes from the rhythms of the shop and the people who drift through it. The series ran for one season of twenty episodes, each about twenty-eight minutes long, and was canceled after that single run. Its tone is breezy, irreverent, and sardonic, with a warm, laid back atmosphere that treats cannabis culture with easygoing affection. Set in a present-day American city, it is a light workplace comedy about small business, friendship, and the search for good vibes. Fans of Weeds, Superstore and Silicon Valley will find resonance in its mix of quirky ensemble humor and satire of an unconventional industry.
