## Synopsis

My Sassy Girl is a South Korean historical romance series that aired on SBS in 2017 as a single season of 32 episodes. Joo Won plays Gyun-Woo, a respected scholar who unexpectedly becomes the protector of a headstrong princess, played by Oh Yeon-seo. Their prickly, love-hate dynamic drives the story as he tries to shield her from rebels who threaten her royal future. Supporting roles add royal court intrigue and political rivalries. Set in Joseon dynasty Korea, the palace drama moves between courtly politics, armed threats and comic bickering, with each episode built around a fresh confrontation that tightens the romantic pull. The tone blends playful romantic comedy with melodramatic stakes, a light and breezy register framed by period costume and palace grandeur. Viewers who enjoyed the original My Sassy Girl film, Rooftop Prince or Moon Lovers will find familiar pleasures here, though the series is a looser and more uneven take on the premise.
