## Synopsis

Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On (2017) is a United States documentary docuseries created by Jill Bauer, Ronna Gradus and Rashida Jones for Netflix. Across six roughly forty-five-minute episodes, it follows real people whose lives are shaped by the boom in internet pornography, including performers such as Alice Frost, Holly Randall, Erika Lust and Gia Paige, who appear as themselves. Rather than a single storyline, the series moves from one subject to the next, showing creators, producers and consumers as they negotiate money, desire, visibility and the pressures of a market reshaped by cheap online distribution. Each episode is built from interviews and observational footage of studios, shoots and private lives, so the drama comes from the gap between what the industry promises and what its workers experience. Its tone is frank, sober and probing, asking whether audiences can face the subject honestly without sensationalism. Viewers drawn to investigative documentaries like Hot Girls Wanted and The Social Dilemma will find a sharp, uneven companion piece about technology, sexuality and consent in contemporary America.
