## Synopsis

Fallet (2017) is a Swedish crime miniseries created by Rikard Ulvshammar and Erik Hultkvist for SVT1. Across eight episodes of roughly 28 minutes each, Swedish detective Sophie Borg (Lisa Henni) and her timid British colleague Tom Brown (Adam Godley) take on a gruesome murder case that tests their partnership. Their investigation yields mixed results and repeated miscommunication, so progress comes in halting steps rather than clean breakthroughs. Supporting characters include Kristina von Borg (Lia Boysen), Arne Arnesen (Björn Granath) and Klas Wall (Tomas von Brömssen), whose connections add pressure and suspicion to the inquiry. The engine of the story is the friction between two investigators who cannot quite read each other, while each episode pushes the case forward through interviews, dead ends and uneasy confrontations. The series is a single-season limited run, its tight arc moving steadily toward a bittersweet resolution. Its tone blends dark crime with awkward, deadpan humor and a bleak undercurrent of unease. Fans of The Bridge, Fargo and Sherlock will find resonance in its Nordic crime setting, its mismatched detective duo and its mix of grim violence with wry comedy.
