## Synopsis

Princess Agents (2017) is a Chinese historical drama series created for Hunan Television, a sixty-seven-episode wuxia romance broadcast as a single season of roughly forty-five-minute episodes. Zhao Liying plays Chu Qiao, a slave girl who survives a deadly hunting game during the Warring Period and is drawn into the ruthless power struggles of the Yuwen family. Lin Gengxin plays Yuwen Yue, the strategist who trains her, while Shawn Dou plays Prince Yan Xun, whose bond with her is tested by betrayal and a growing hunger for revenge. The engine of the story is Chu Qiao's push to forge her own path amid court factions and battlefield campaigns, as she rises into a military strategist determined to end slavery. The series unfolds as a continuing serialized story, with political maneuvering, shifting alliances and wartime set pieces building across its run. Set in ancient China, it blends intimate romance with sweeping courtly and martial spectacle, carrying a tone that is earnest, emotional and driven by defiance. Fans of Nirvana in Fire, Story of Yanxi Palace and The Legend of Miao Qiu will find resonance in its palace intrigue, resilient heroine and romantic tension.
