## Synopsis

Blood Drive (2017) is a American science fiction action series created by James Roland for Syfy. Alan Ritchson plays Arthur Bailey, a former cop forced into a brutal near-future death race, while Christina Ochoa plays Grace d'Argento and Colin Cunningham plays Julian Slink among the principal figures around the race. The engine of the show is simple and grim: a driver must survive each race in cars that run on human blood, and every episode is built around a new vehicular contest, sabotage, and the constant threat of losing a limb or life. The single season of thirteen episodes plays as one continuing story that follows the drivers as they fight for survival inside a grimy, corrupt spectacle. Set in a near-dystopian future, its look is gritty and pulpy, with blunt gore, sardonic bravado, and a carnival-like tone that mixes danger with dark humor. Fans of Death Race, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Hunger Games will find resonance in its brutal arena spectacle, outsider protagonist, and sharp satire of televised violence. The series was canceled after its first season, leaving its story unfinished.
