Viewers broadly rate Good Girls as a positive, fast-paced crime dramedy whose premise of ordinary suburban mothers drawn into criminal work is effective, though its quality dipped in the middle seasons.

## Synopsis

Good Girls (2018-2021) is an American crime drama series created by Jenna Bans for NBC. Three suburban wives and mothers, Beth Boland (Christina Hendricks), Ruby Hill (Retta) and Annie Marks (Mae Whitman), find their ordinary lives collapsing under debt and family pressure and decide to stop playing it safe. What begins as a desperate supermarket robbery pulls them into a dangerous criminal world of money laundering and cartel dealings, with each episode forcing them to juggle household duties, marriages and children while staying one step ahead of the people who want them caught. Beth's husband Dean (Matthew Lillard) and Ruby's husband Stan (Reno Wilson) add domestic strain to every scheme. The series runs four seasons and fifty episodes as one continuing serialized story. Its tone mixes sharp humor with tension and moments of real peril, set in present-day American suburbia. Fans of Weeds, Breaking Bad and Ozark will find resonance in its portrait of ordinary people sliding into crime.
