## Synopsis

Young Sheldon (2017-2024) is a CBS family sitcom created by Steven Molaro and Chuck Lorre, a prequel spun out of The Big Bang Theory. Iain Armitage plays child genius Sheldon Cooper, who lives in his own intellectual world in East Texas, while Zoe Perry and Lance Barber play his loving but bewildered parents Mary and George. Raegan Revord, Montana Jordan and Annie Potts round out the household and the neighborhood, with Annie Potts as the sharp-tongued Connie Tucker. The engine of the show is the friction between Sheldon's rigid routines and the ordinary demands of a crowded family: school rules, sibling squabbles, money worries and a community that does not know what to make of him. Each episode is a self-contained half hour built around a small domestic problem that Sheldon approaches with literal logic. The series runs seven seasons and 141 episodes in a single-camera style. It is set in the 1980s, in a small Texas town shaped by church, football and modest ambitions. The mood is gentle, nostalgic and affectionate, with a warm current of family love under the jokes. Fans of The Wonder Years, The Goldbergs and The Big Bang Theory will find resonance here.
