## Synopsis

A.P. Bio (2018-2021) is a American network sitcom created by Michael Patrick O'Brien for NBC and later Peacock. Glenn Howerton plays Jack Griffin, a disgraced Harvard philosophy scholar who, after losing a dream job, is forced to teach Advanced Placement biology at a high school in Toledo, Ohio. Jack's engine is spite: he wants to get back at the administration and his own fate, and every episode is built around his scheming against principal Ralph Durbin, played by Patton Oswalt, while he also clashes with his students and colleagues. Helen Henry Demarcus, played by Paula Pell, adds another layer of institutional absurdity. The show runs four seasons as a single continuing story of escalating petty rivalries, with each season's episodes built around a fresh classroom and staff-room scheme. Its tone is sardonic, irreverent and deadpan, a cringe comedy about intellectual vanity meeting small-town public education. Fans of Community, Abbott Elementary and Party Down will find resonance in its workplace humor and flawed, self-absorbed leads. The series sits comfortably in the workplace sitcom tradition, offering a sharp, quick-moving comedy for anyone who enjoys a bitter, witty lead.
