## Synopsis

Ghosted (2017-2018) is an American single-season comedy series created by Tom Gormican for FOX. Adam Scott plays Max, a skeptic who is pulled into a secret government unit investigating unexplained occurrences across Los Angeles, and he is forced to work alongside Craig Robinson as Leroy Wright, a firm believer in the paranormal who is convinced every strange sighting is real. Ally Walker plays the unit's captain, Ava Lafrey, keeping the team on task, while Amber Stevens West and Adeel Akhtar add further friction and comic counterweight as the investigation grows stranger. Each episode is a fast-moving case of the week in which the two leads trade quips and clash over what they are seeing, with the sitcom rhythm of a half-hour workplace comedy wrapped around a spooky premise. The tone is breezy and playful, with the tagline's promise to be afraid but kind of afraid captured in gentle scares that never grow truly menacing. Viewers who enjoy buddy comedies with a supernatural twist will find kinship with Supernatural, Psych and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The sixteen-episode run was canceled after one season, so the investigation never fully resolves.
