## Synopsis

Splitting Up Together (2018-2019) is an American network family sitcom created by Emily Kapnek for ABC. Jenna Fischer plays Lena and Oliver Hudson plays Martin, a couple who decide to divorce but cannot sell their house in a tough real estate market. Instead they adopt a bird nest arrangement: whichever parent is on duty lives in the house while the off-duty parent moves into the detached garage. The engine of the show is the awkward daily choreography of this shared home, as Lena begins dipping into the dating scene and Martin confronts his own part in the marriage falling apart. Each twenty-two minute episode is built from kitchen-table scenes, school-run logistics, and the friction of two people who still know each other too well. Supporting characters including Bobby Lee as Arthur and Diane Farr as Maya widen the household's orbit. The series runs two seasons over twenty-six episodes in a single-camera style. Its tone is breezy and warm, with wry, sincere moments about love outlasting a marriage. Fans of Divorce, The Middle and Modern Family will find resonance in its domestic humor and its tender, unvarnished look at family life after separation.
