## Synopsis

Wisdom of the Crowd (2017-2018) is a American network crime drama created by Ted Humphrey for CBS. Tech innovator Jeffrey Tanner (Jeremy Piven) builds a cutting-edge crowd-sourcing hub after his daughter is murdered, hoping that the collective intelligence of thousands of strangers can crack a case the police have not solved. Detective Cavanaugh (Richard T. Jones) represents the traditional investigative world that Tanner's technology both challenges and depends upon, while Sarah (Natalia Tena) and Alex (Monica Potter) anchor the personal and professional circles around him. Each episode turns on a new puzzle fed through the platform, with tips, theories and false leads flooding in from online contributors and forcing the team to separate signal from noise. The engine of the series is the tension between a grieving father's obsession and the ethics of turning a private loss into a public spectacle. Shot in San Francisco, the thirteen-episode single season mixes sleek technology imagery with grounded procedural beats. Its tone is intense and propulsive, with a melancholic undercurrent of grief. Fans of Person of Interest and The Mentalist will find resonance in its blend of tech-driven investigation and character-led crime solving.
