## Synopsis

All Hail King Julien: Exiled (2017) is an American 3D animated comedy spin-off created for Netflix, produced by DreamWorks Animation Television. Its protagonist is the vain, self-declared King Julien (voiced by Danny Jacobs), a lemur who has been dethroned and now relies on loyal companions such as Maurice (Kevin Michael Richardson) and Clover (India de Beaufort). Julien's most reliable allies, and a handful of unlikely new companions voiced by Jeff Bennett, Andy Richter and Debra Wilson, help him travel across colorful landscapes in pursuit of a plan to reclaim the throne. Each episode of this single season of thirteen roughly twenty-one minute installments unfolds as a light, self-contained adventure, with slapstick set pieces, running jokes about Julien's grandiose ego, and gentle moments of loyalty between friends. The tone is breezy, cheerful and warm, with nothing darker than mild peril and comic mishaps. Fans of Madagascar, Penguins of Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda will find the same mix of bright animation, quick jokes and kid friendly quest energy. The series is built for young viewers and family audiences who want an easy, feel good watch with a memorable, theatrical central character.
