## Synopsis

Capitaine Marleau (2015-present) is a French national-television crime series created by Josée Dayan and Elsa Marpeau for France 3 and France 2. Corinne Masiero plays the title character, an eccentric provincial gendarme whose deerstalker cap and offbeat humor set her apart from every other investigator in the region. Rather than chasing clues through rushed procedure, she absorbs herself into each case, lingering with witnesses and relentlessly circling suspects until the truth surfaces. Each feature-length episode runs about ninety minutes and is built around a self-contained murder investigation, so the format works as a case-of-the-week mystery with a recurring lead rather than a continuing arc. Guest stars including Gérard Depardieu, Béatrice Dalle, Olivier Gourmet and Élie Semoun appear in individual episodes, lending the stories a theatrical weight. The show unfolds across four seasons with a warm, wry and character-driven tone, balancing gentle comedy against the tension of each inquiry. Fans of Monk, Vera and the French procedural Engrenages will find resonance in its quirky investigator and patient, observant rhythm.
