## Synopsis

Alice in Borderland (2014-2015) is a Japanese science fiction survival anime series produced by CONNECT, Barnum Studio and Silver Link. Its original video animation run contains three episodes of about 24 minutes each. Antisocial misfit Ryohei Arisu, voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya, wishes on a firework and wakes in the Borderland, a deserted parallel version of Tokyo where every corner hides danger. Alongside him are the resourceful strategist Shuntarou Chishiya, voiced by Takahiro Sakurai, and the determined Yuzuha Usagi, voiced by Minako Kotobuki, who must win a series of games that grow deadlier with each round. The engine of the story is simple and brutal: the contestants want to survive long enough to return home, but every game demands trust, sacrifice, or cold calculation. Each episode unfolds as a tense puzzle with rising stakes, and the atmosphere is eerie, empty streets lit by an uncanny stillness. Its mood is bleak and contemplative, with a slow dread that builds into propulsive action. Fans of Battle Royale and Kakegurui will find resonance in its sharp survival tension and psychological edge. Viewers who enjoy a compact, intense anime will find this a gripping, self-contained watch.
