## Synopsis

Kafr Delhap (2017) is an Egyptian horror-mystery drama series created by Youssef El Sherif and aired on ON. Set in a remote, cursed village in an ancient era, the story follows Physician Saad (Youssef El Sherif), a doctor who arrives to find that no children have been born for years, women miscarry, and villagers are possessed by jinn. Saad must untangle the local talk of a vengeful woman's spirit seeking retribution against the entire hamlet, while the village's own leaders and families, including Bahaa El-Din Katokhda (Mohammad Reyad) and Abou El-Ezz (Hadi El Gayar), guard their secrets and fears. Each episode layers superstition, possession rites, and whispered accusations over a slow mounting dread, with the rational physician pitted against a community that trusts the curse more than medicine. The series is a rare foray into horror-mystery for Egyptian drama, filmed on location in the haunting landscape of Siwa Oasis, and its tone is eerie, oppressive, and atmospheric. Its sandy isolation and folklore-driven unease will appeal to viewers who enjoy slow burn folk horror in the vein of Hereditary and supernatural mysteries like The Exorcist. A single season of thirty episodes gives the story room to build its mystery at a deliberate pace.
