## Synopsis

Law & Order True Crime (2017) is an American true crime dramatization created by René Balcer for NBC. Its single season of eight forty-three-minute episodes follows defense attorney Leslie Abramson (Edie Falco) as she fights for the Menendez brothers, Erik (Gus Halper) and Lyle (Miles Gaston Villanueva), through the daily grind of a high-profile murder trial. Detective Les Zoeller (Sam Jaeger) and Dr. Jerome Oziel (Josh Charles) add pressure from the investigation side, while reporters and the public press watch every move. Each episode turns the courtroom into a stage where legal strategy, family loyalty and public spectacle collide. The engine is the defense's struggle to win over a jury while a hungry media machine shapes what viewers believe. The tone is tense, sober and procedural, with a documentary-like sense of consequence that leaves the viewer feeling the weight of real lives. Fans of The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and the original Law & Order will find resonance in its legal rigor and media-saturated atmosphere. The series was canceled after its first season, so the case is never fully resolved on screen.
