## Synopsis

Pucca (2006-2008) is a Canadian-American animated kids comedy created by Calvin Kim and Boo Kyoung Kim for Toon Disney. Adapted from the Flash animation series published by Vooz Character Systems, it follows Pucca, a South Korean girl who is insanely in love with Garu, a prideful ninja. Across two seasons and 117 very short episodes of roughly eight minutes each, the engine is simple and comic: Pucca pursues Garu relentlessly while he tries to stay dignified, and the pair end up defending their town of Sooga Village when evil ninjas attack or when the village is thrown into one absurd situation after another. The voice cast is led by Michael Dobson, Dave Squatch Ward, Richard Newman, Tabitha St. Germain and Lee Tockar. The look is bright, cartoonish and fast, with a breezy, playful tone that rides on physical gags and slapstick rather than plot. The show plays like a cleaned up blend of South Park, Looney Tunes and Naruto, with ninja action played for laughs and a light, affectionate warmth. Some subtly hidden adult humor sits beneath the surface, though it is aimed at a young audience. Fans of Looney Tunes and Naruto will find resonance in its chaotic energy and martial arts parody.
