## Synopsis

Princess Principal (2017) is a Japanese anime spy series created by Studio 3Hz with production by Actas and Bandai Visual, broadcast on TOKYO MX. Set in a steampunk alternate 19th century London within the Kingdom of Albion, the story follows five girls who attend the prestigious Queens May Fair School while secretly working as operatives in the shadow world. Their missions revolve around disguise, infiltration and daring car chases as they navigate a city split by a wall between its rich west and poor east. Princess, Ange, Chise, Dorothy and Beatrice form the core team, and the voice cast includes Akira Sekine as Princess, Ayaka Imamura as Ange and Nozomi Furuki as Chise. The series runs for a single twelve-episode season of twenty-four minute episodes. Each episode is built around a self-contained mission that deepens the bonds among the girls, pairing tense covert operations with warm female friendship. Its mood blends propulsive action with wistful, earnest emotion and an atmosphere of gaslit intrigue. Fans of Lupin the Third, Strike Witches and Sherlock Holmes will find resonance in its stylish spycraft, youthful ensemble and Victorian intrigue.
