## Synopsis

Ghost Wars (2017-2018) is a American supernatural science fiction mystery series created by Simon Barry and Mathias Herndl for Syfy. Set in a remote Alaskan town overrun by paranormal forces, it follows local outcast Roman Mercer (Avan Jogia), a young man who must overcome the town's prejudice against him and his own inner turmoil. Kim Coates plays Billy McGrath and Luvia Petersen plays Val McGrath-Dufresne, two figures whose lives intersect with Roman's as the community reels. The engine of the show is Roman's struggle to harness psychic powers he has long kept buried, while the town's suspicion makes every step harder. Each episode builds the sense of a settlement under siege by a spreading haunting, with snow-bound streets, tense gatherings, and creeping dread. Across a single season of thirteen episodes, the story pushes toward a community-wide reckoning with the unseen. The tone is eerie and brooding, with an undercurrent of loneliness and belonging. Fans of Twin Peaks, Wayward Pines and Haven will find resonance in its remote-town mystery, its outsider hero, and its supernatural unease. The series was canceled after its single season.
