## Synopsis

The Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils (1997) is a Hong Kong wuxia drama series created by Lee Tim-sing for TVB Jade. Its protagonists, the noble fighter Kiu Fung (Felix Wong Yat-wah), the wandering prince Duen Yu (Benny Chan Ho-Man), and the monk Hui Juk (Louis Fan Siu-wong), each pursue their own path through a martial world of rival sects, hidden lineages and dangerous allegiances. Principal figures include Wong Yu-yin (Carman Lee Yeuk-tung), Muk-yung Fuk (Cheung Kwok-Keung) and Ah-chu (Jay Lau Kam-Ling), whose loyalties and affections pull the separate storylines together. The engine of the show is the tension between personal identity and inherited feud, with each episode built from duels, court intrigue, shifting alliances and quiet romance. Set in a legendary medieval China, the series unfolds across a single continuous arc of forty-five episodes, mixing epic sword fights with melancholy reflection on honor and fate. Its tone is sweeping yet intimate, balancing spectacle with a wistful sense of loss. Fans of Legend of the Condor Heroes, The Smiling, Proud Wanderer and classic jin yong adaptations will find the same chivalric grandeur and interlocking destinies here.
