## Synopsis

Ateşböceği (2017) is a Turkish romantic comedy-drama series created for Star TV, a single-season run of seventeen long episodes. Seçkin Özdemir plays Barış Buka, a divorce lawyer who believes life holds nothing left to surprise him, and Nilay Deniz plays Aslı Eğilmez, a young woman who drives a taxi to help support her family. Seda Güven plays İlayda Taş, and Durul Bazan and Şebnem Dilligil play Metin and Neşe Eğilmez, whose household pressures shape Aslı's choices. The engine is a romantic collision: a cynical man and a striving woman cross paths, and their lives begin to change in ways neither expected. Each episode moves through the friction of courtroom divorces, family obligations and tentative closeness, with the rhythm of a contemporary Turkish romance. Set in modern Istanbul, the series mixes wry humor with melancholy about broken marriages and the weight of duty. Its tone is warm, bittersweet and wistful rather than frantic. Viewers who enjoy Kara Sevda and the romantic dramedy of Ally McBeal will find a similar pull between sharp dialogue and sincere longing.
