## Synopsis

Under Pressure (2017-2022) is a Brazilian medical drama series created by Jorge Furtado, Renato Fagundes, Luiz Noronha, Cláudio Torres and Lucas Paraizo for TV Globo. Set in a chaotic emergency room in Rio de Janeiro, the show follows a team of doctors pulled between their private troubles and the demands of the job. Dr. Evandro, played by Júlio Andrade, anchors the ensemble alongside Dra. Carolina (Marjorie Estiano) and Dr. Charles (Pablo Sanábio), while Dr. Samuel (Stepan Nercessian) and Dr. Décio (Bruno Garcia) add further strain and warmth to the staff. The engine of each episode is the stream of patients arriving with urgent injuries and illnesses, and the surprising dramas hidden in their histories, which push the doctors to act fast and carefully. Across five seasons and fifty-seven episodes, the series builds a serialized portrait of colleagues whose professional commitments keep colliding with their family lives and romances. The tone is earnest and humane, with hectic corridor energy balanced by quieter moments of reflection. Viewers who enjoy ER, Grey's Anatomy and other hospital ensembles will find familiar pleasures here, filtered through a distinctly Brazilian lens of city life and public health care. Its mix of medical urgency and character intimacy makes it a satisfying choice for anyone seeking emotionally grounded hospital drama.
