## Synopsis

Disenchantment (2018-2023) is an American adult animated fantasy comedy created by Matt Groening for Netflix. Set in the ruined medieval city of Dreamland, it follows Princess Bean (voiced by Abbi Jacobson), a hard-drinking heir who would rather escape her kingdom than rule it, alongside her feisty elf companion Elfo (Nat Faxon) and her personal demon Luci (Eric Andre). Their engine is simple and chaotic: Bean dodges royal obligations while drifting through misadventures, schemes and ill-advised quests, while a wider cast of royals, sorcerers and courtiers (Matt Berry, John DiMaggio, Billy West) keeps the kingdom's politics tangled. The show runs for three seasons in a continuing storyline, with episodes built around crude detours and escalating disasters. Its tone is irreverent, absurd and sardonic, with a warm undercurrent of loyalty between its misfits. Fans of Futurama, Adventure Time and Rick and Morty will find resonance in its cheeky satire of fairy tale conventions and its mix of crude humor and heart.
