## Synopsis

Madicken (1979-1983) is a Swedish national-television family comedy created by Göran Graffman for SVT1, adapted from his beloved children's novels. The show follows a spirited, mischievous young girl, Madicken (Jonna Liljendahl), whose everyday life brims with small rebellions, sibling squabbles and the constant ups and downs of growing up. Her older brother Abbe (Sebastian Håkansson) provides a steady foil, while her parents, played by Monica Nordquist as mamma and Björn Granath as pappa, anchor the household routines that her imagination constantly disrupts. Neighbours including herr Nilsson (Allan Edwall) and fru Nilsson (Birgitta Andersson) add warmth and gentle eccentricity to the surrounding community. Each brisk 27-minute episode is built around a self-contained domestic episode, a minor misadventure or a moral lesson handled with a light touch. Across two seasons totalling ten episodes, the series keeps a wistful, cozy register, with a nostalgic charm that suits family viewing. Fans of Pippi Longstocking and Ronia, the Robber's Daughter will find the same spirited childhood warmth, while Bluey shares its affectionate, family-centred comedy.
