## Synopsis

Les Contes de la rue Broca (1996-1998) is a French animated family comedy series created by Gilles Gay, Alain Jaspard, Pierre Gripari and Claude Allix for Canal J and France 3. Across 26 thirteen-minute episodes, a storyteller named Mr. Pierre (voiced by Edgar Givry) gathers a group of Paris neighborhood children, including Nadia (voiced by Marine Boiron) and Bachir (voiced by Sophie Arthuys), and spins fairy tales that unfold in the streets and rooms of their quarter. Each episode is a self-contained tale, so the series works as a gentle, episodic anthology of wonder rather than a continuing plot. Its engine is simple: the children want to hear a good story, and the stories themselves bring witches, talking animals and small magical reversals into ordinary city life. The tone is warm, whimsical and cozy, with a sincere affection for childhood imagination and the rhythms of oral storytelling. Adapted from the children's books of Pierre Gripari, the show is a single completed season built for young viewers and families. Fans of Bagpuss, The Moomins and classic storytelling programs for children will find the same gentle wonder and comforting narrative charm.
