## Synopsis

Yellowstone (2018-2024) is a American neo-western drama series created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson for Paramount Network. Kevin Costner stars as patriarch John Dutton, who guards the largest contiguous ranch in the United States in Montana, alongside Kelly Reilly as his fierce daughter Beth Dutton, Luke Grimes as his son Kayce, and Cole Hauser as ranch hand Rip Wheeler. The engine of the show is simple and relentless: the family must hold its land against constant threats from land developers, a neighboring Indian reservation, and an encroaching national park, and each season is built from clashing boardroom schemes, cattle-country standoffs, and bitter family rivalries. Over five seasons the story stays one continuing saga, with strong ties to the cowboy tradition and sprawling Western vistas. Its mood is brooding, violent, and soapy, with a dark sense of inherited power and loyalty. Fans of Justified, Hell on Wheels, and Ozark will find resonance in its blend of frontier myth, criminal family drama, and unflinching power politics.
