## Synopsis

A Rooster for Esculapio (2017-2018) is an Argentine crime drama miniseries created by Sebastián Ortega and Bruno Stagnaro and broadcast on TNT Latin America. Its central figure is a young working-class man who leaves the province of Misiones for Buenos Aires carrying a fighting rooster, hoping to find his missing brother. The cast is led by Peter Lanzani as Nelson Segovia, alongside Luis Brandoni as Chelo Esculapio, Julieta Ortega as Nancy, and Luis Luque as Yiyo, all drawn into the lives of low life characters who introduce the newcomer to a world of crime. Each episode builds around the shifting loyalties, debts, and gambling stakes of the city's margins, so the search for a sibling becomes a route into dangerous territory. The run spans two seasons and fifteen episodes of one continuing story rather than case-of-the-week episodes. Set in contemporary urban Argentina, it moves through neighborhoods, bars, and cockfighting pits with a gritty, unsentimental eye. The tone is tense and melancholic, with an undercurrent of loyalty and survival. Fans of Breaking Bad and Argentine crime dramas will find resonance in its portrait of marginal lives pulled into criminal circles.
