## Synopsis

The Velvet Collection (2017-2018) is a Spanish period drama series created by Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira for Movistar Plus. Set in 1967, the story follows fashion designer Anna Ribera, who returns to Spain from New York to grow her Velvet fashion house into a franchise. Her close friend Clara Montesinos (Marta Hazas), who rose from seamstress to directorial assistant, manages the new Barcelona store on the Passeig de Gracia. Alongside them, the series follows partners and rivals, including Raúl de la Riva (Asier Etxeandia) and Pedro Infantes (Adrián Lastra), as business pressures, romance and loyalty test the group. Across two seasons and twenty hour-long episodes, the drama moves between boutique ateliers, showroom launches and personal rivalries, building a glossy, emotionally warm portrait of ambition in the Spanish fashion world. Its tone is glamorous and wistful, with a melodramatic streak. Fans of Mad Men, Cuéntame cómo pasó and Cable Girls will find resonance in its sixties style, workplace ambition and period romance.
